Bahama Mama - Cruise 2013

CARNIVAL LEGEND CRUISE:

So as you all might have heard my husband and I went on a week long cruise! It was beyond amazing and a blast. We are definitely hooked! We started our journey Saturday Feb. 12th where we stayed in Tampa Florida the night before the cruise ship left. We then woke up in paradise, and headed on over to the port where the boat was waiting. We hopped right in line, and honestly everything went so smooth. I figured we would have have hours and hours of waiting, but to my surprise we were on the ship in about an hour! Seriously!! Our first look into the ship was quite overwhelming, we didn't really know what to expect or even where to begin to look. And heck, at this point we didn't care!! We are on a boat!! Our first and most important stop was the buffet. We ate lunch then explored everything!!! It was so cool, going to different levels of the ship, like how on earth do they make 7 levels!!? Anyhow, we journeyed around and than went to the pool, and laid out. :-) That night we went to fine dining, and let me tell you, it's definitely delicious!!! We went to bed, and woke up and had our very first "SEA" day. These days are pretty laid back, and you kind of just hang out and go to shows, or to the casino, or to the pool. We did all three ;-) That night was a blast, we had formal night, where we dressed up to the nines, and ate extraordinary food!!! Here is our professional photo from that! We took like hundreds, but had to choose one.

Than came the fun part; Day 2: COZUMEL, MEXICO
We practically ran off the boat into our first shore excursion, which we did snorkeling. It was a beginner class, because I have never snorkeled, nor did I know if I was going to like it, so we both set out put our gear on and went for it! It was by far the best time I have ever had in my life!! Literally! We got to see some amazing fish, and octopus, and people diving! Tell me if that is not cool!? We have underwater pictures, but I still have to get the camera developed.

Second stop; Day 3: BELIZE CITY, BELIZE
We kinda didn't know what we were doing this day, so we got off the boat with no real plan. However, we did find a cool shore excursion that lead us to the Mayan Ruins and Belize City tour. Side note: This tour took us up a bumpy, I mean BUMPY car ride. I thought I was literally going to die! And than we were on a one way road and cars and giant buses where blowing pass us. Talk about adrenline rush. But we did make it, finally. It took an hour and half on a crazy 15 passenger van ride, but we did survive...
Back to the story, Belize is a very very poor country so it was sad to see all the homes, and life. But it was neat to get the "cultural feel". The Mayan ruins were really awesome too!!

Mayan Ruins

I didn't get a good pic of downtown so I had to grab on from the internet.

Day 4: MAHOGANY BAY, ROATAN
We decide for this day to just enjoy the beach, kick back and relax! And that's exactly what we did!!! We both had so much fun laying in the sun and enjoying each others company! This place was our FAVORITE. The scenery was breath-taking, and the water was so clear it was honestly hard to believe. You would have to see it to believe it!

Last Stop: Cayman Islands

This also was a favorite, we got to swim and hold baby turtles!! How cool is that!! Fun Fact: You have to hold a turtle like your going to eat a hamburger with both hands, otherwise it starts to flap its hands, and to get that to stop you rub its chin! LOL so cute!!!!

Day six was a sea day, and we went to a ton of comedy shows, dance shows and drank WAY to much!!!
Unfortunately day 7 our cruise came to an end and we had to get off the ship at 9:00 am ;-(.

It was a blast, and I would gladly do it over and over again, until I was fat, dumb and happy!!! ( Oh,, wait I am) :-) We are looking into Alaskan cruises when we move to Washington State here in 6 mths!! I hope you enjoyed my long BLOG!!

Until next time;

Picture This: Year 2012

 YEAR 2012

So I am a little late on posting about the new year and stuff, but we have had a lot going on. From weddings, to Colorado, to sleeping in, and to (me) back to work!! 2012 was an overwhelming, joyful, experience. We survived Pilot Training, I survived school at 25, and got my degree! We had our one year anniversary in May, and thank god for each other everyday! Seriously, he is the BEST thing that has EVER happened to me. In June was my 25th Bday, and we celebrated in OKC. I got a Coach purse!! ;-) We enjoyed a lot of quality time, when we could with each other. I started Starbucks, and have loved every minute of it. I actually enjoy going into work! Which, all the previous jobs I have had I got bored of them. They do say its the people you work with that make your job. And that is so true!  My passion is teaching, but I love starting people's day off right with a cup of joe. This year has been tough, but in hind-sight I wouldn't trade it for the world.
WE ARE GOING ON A CRUISE IN 3 DAYS, AND THAN FLORIDA TO SPEND TIME WITH CHRISTIAN'S GRANDPARENTS! PICTURES AND A POST TO COME!

Happy Blogging Friends! Here are some pics from the 2012 year!

Ohhh the places you will go..

Well it has been decided, Christian will be flying the C-17 "globemaster". Huge plane, and really cool missions! Grateful and so proud of him to be able to fly such an awesome plane!! Assignment night was very ummmm thrilling, to say the least. We got "fake:" FAIPED. I was actually pretty calm when that happened, however when they pulled the switch a roo on us, that's when I couldn't breathe or figure out what was even going on!!! I just kept saying, No they are going to change it again. I still am not too sure about it all. Anyhow, I am sooooo stoked to be going to Mcchord AFB in Washington St. Such a gorgeous state. God answered my prayers with giving me my mountains back, and now I am semi near water!!!!! We cannot wait to begin our New adventure in Washington, until than back to the daily grind here in Oklahoma! Our orders should be here in a week or so!!! And than we get to see our beautiful family!! Oh and did I mention I will be DONE with school too!!! With everything going on, I keep forgetting that I am close to my goals too!
Until than,

Enjoy some pics from the overwhelming night of Assignment night.

Anticipation is a Killer

Trying so hard to not think about Friday, but I have waited 52 weeks, for this day! Assignment night is coming!
As I am so nervous, I am now more ready to get it all over with. I can't believe it is finally our TURN! What a wonderful time for Christian, to know what he will fly for the next 10-15 years. Kinda scary to realize that your husband will be flying a multi - million dollar airplane in a blink of an eye. I am so happy, and have so much gratitude towards God for giving us this beautiful gift that we are about to receive. I have been praying a lot lately for different reasons. But the number one reason is I know God will place us where we need to be. At the end of the day, it is not up to us anymore. Where ever we go we will make it work!

So here is to hoping for a great assignment and that all Christian's classmates get what they wanted!!

So here is our most desired to our least desired choices, Enjoy!

Motivation for Regular Exercise

Six Tips for Work-Out Motivation
48 days = 6 weeks!
  1. How you feel after a workout. I always feel great after a good workout. It’s a high. And I let that motivate me the next time: “You know how good you’re going to feel, Leo!”
  2. Time for you. While many people make time to take care of others (kids, spouse, other family, co-workers, boss), they don’t often make time to take care of themselves. Instead, make your “you” time a priority, and don’t miss that exercise appointment.
  3. Calories burned. If you count calories (and it’s really one of the most effective ways to lose weight), you know that the more you exercise, the more calories you burn — and the bigger your calorie deficit.
  4. Having fun. Exercise should be fun. If it isn’t, try a different kind of activity that you enjoy. As long as you’re moving, it’s good for you.
  5. How you’re going to look. Imagine a slimmer, fitter you. Now let that visualization drive you.
  6. Blogs. I enjoy reading blogs about people who are into running, or losing weight. It can show the ups and downs they go through, and you can learn from their experiences.

"Life is a Journey, Not a Destination"

"To be without desires, is to be content.
If you do not wish to have something,
you are content with what you have.
And it always seems to me that,
the more we don't desire something,
the greater the chance of getting it,
and all the more exciting.
To be without desire,
is to be simple.
If life is simple,
then life is not complicated".
It's all about the journey. The lessons learned. The friends met and kept. The ride... Not the stop-overs.... With this said our NEXT journey is approaching quickly. I never thought I would say that this year has been a wonderful experience. We have grown in our marriage, I have made life-long friends, and even finished what seemed like years to come, my degree. All of these things I am proud, and will keep working on.
In recent news, Christian passed his NAV checkride, for all of you who don't know this is the BIGGIE! This ride alone stands in front of you and your so called " flying career" or for wives our bragging rights. ;-) Christian got an E which is the highest you can get, and as I am told he got 17 upgrades. Not to sure what all that means, but I am assuming it was good when he didn't come home and directly head for the fridge, for a beer. I am so proud of him, don't get me wrong, but nervous for what it holds for our future. Usually if you do well and perform at the top of your class, you have a chance of getting FAIPED, which is a first assignment instructor pilot. Not that it's a bad thing, just the location is the pits. Since we would continue to live in ENID. So I pray, like many others, that we move onto bigger and better bases and places! So with that said I am proud, but nervous too stay and have my friends get to go to cool places.. It is always a possibility with everyone though ,that their fate could wind up here. ( Christian hasn't been told by any, but the boys always joke with one another). TERRIFIES ME. Since I have a love hate relationship with tornadoes, and we are sitting in the middle of NOWHERE, OKlahoma.... So just pray everyone, that we get outta here, and everyone gets their assignment they want!
Starbucks has been great so far, loving the people I work with. Everyday I laugh, and am thankful that I was given this opportunity.
This weekend we are headed to OKC for a HaLlOwEeN partay, should be fun!! Love, love, love dressing up!!!
Lastly, thanksgiving is quickly approaching and we are going to COLORADO to eat turkey and hang with the family. YAY!!!  My mommy is coming too :-)
NOVEMBER 30th = 30 min of the rest of our lives... well not really, but four years at least!!! ;-)

Shades of Autumn

So it has been a while since my last post. I must apologize, but things have been quite busy in the Drescher household.

UPDATE: I now work at Starbucks, and love every minute of it ;-)
Christian is really enjoying T-1's and gets to eat good food, LIKE ALL THE TIME! Seriously not fair. ( As I sit at home eating macaroni and cheese, and hot dogs. But, I cant complain.. I wouldn't trade this life for the world.. I am still in school, seems like it will never end, But the finish line is almost there. I just need to hang on for a few more months.. Please give me sanity in order to achieve this!!! One of my best friends, and Christian's friend find out where there journey is taking him next.. ( and her) but its a long story this coming Friday Oct. 12th.. So excited to actually go to an Assignment night where I am really close to someone! On the other hand, it is starting to make me slightly nervous, because that means our's is right around the corner! It's a bit thrilling to know what your doing for the next 4 years, but with my anxiety and hyperness, I know this can only bring Emotion out of me! So I am really debating on going, CALL ME CRAZY, but honestly, I don't know if I can handle all that. Knowing that people are looking at your reaction, and trying to decipher   if you are happy or not...and let me tell you I am a very emotional person; In good or bad situations, So i know I will cry, scream, fist pump. Or what have you, in the auditorium. EEEEK!
My fur babies are doing great, crazy crazy cats! They are honestly the sweetest, most babied children ever.. Scary to see what will happen when we have kids!!
Did I tell you how much I enjoy Starbucks, and getting free coffee now will be the death of me! Like for real!!

This semester is tough, I flippin hate Biology with a passion! I feel so incompetent in that class. But I know I have to study to get the grade I want. Which is really tough to do, since I have to be a wife, friend, and colleague.

OMG - I ALMOST FORGET! A FEW FRIENDS AND I MEET FARRAH FROM TEEN MOM. I AM A REALITY JUNKIE, SO YOU KNOW HOW PUMPED I WAS FOR THIS! I WAS STAR STRUCK AND COULDN'T EVEN BELIEVE THAT I WAS MEETING SOMEONE "FAMOUS" IN SMALL TOWN ENID, AMERICA! SAY WHHHAATTT! IT'S TRUE, I DOCUMENTED IT. THEORY IS, IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PIC IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I HAVE A PIC!
