Motivation for Regular Exercise

Six Tips for Work-Out Motivation
48 days = 6 weeks!
  1. How you feel after a workout. I always feel great after a good workout. It’s a high. And I let that motivate me the next time: “You know how good you’re going to feel, Leo!”
  2. Time for you. While many people make time to take care of others (kids, spouse, other family, co-workers, boss), they don’t often make time to take care of themselves. Instead, make your “you” time a priority, and don’t miss that exercise appointment.
  3. Calories burned. If you count calories (and it’s really one of the most effective ways to lose weight), you know that the more you exercise, the more calories you burn — and the bigger your calorie deficit.
  4. Having fun. Exercise should be fun. If it isn’t, try a different kind of activity that you enjoy. As long as you’re moving, it’s good for you.
  5. How you’re going to look. Imagine a slimmer, fitter you. Now let that visualization drive you.
  6. Blogs. I enjoy reading blogs about people who are into running, or losing weight. It can show the ups and downs they go through, and you can learn from their experiences.

"Life is a Journey, Not a Destination"

"To be without desires, is to be content.
If you do not wish to have something,
you are content with what you have.
And it always seems to me that,
the more we don't desire something,
the greater the chance of getting it,
and all the more exciting.
To be without desire,
is to be simple.
If life is simple,
then life is not complicated".
It's all about the journey. The lessons learned. The friends met and kept. The ride... Not the stop-overs.... With this said our NEXT journey is approaching quickly. I never thought I would say that this year has been a wonderful experience. We have grown in our marriage, I have made life-long friends, and even finished what seemed like years to come, my degree. All of these things I am proud, and will keep working on.
In recent news, Christian passed his NAV checkride, for all of you who don't know this is the BIGGIE! This ride alone stands in front of you and your so called " flying career" or for wives our bragging rights. ;-) Christian got an E which is the highest you can get, and as I am told he got 17 upgrades. Not to sure what all that means, but I am assuming it was good when he didn't come home and directly head for the fridge, for a beer. I am so proud of him, don't get me wrong, but nervous for what it holds for our future. Usually if you do well and perform at the top of your class, you have a chance of getting FAIPED, which is a first assignment instructor pilot. Not that it's a bad thing, just the location is the pits. Since we would continue to live in ENID. So I pray, like many others, that we move onto bigger and better bases and places! So with that said I am proud, but nervous too stay and have my friends get to go to cool places.. It is always a possibility with everyone though ,that their fate could wind up here. ( Christian hasn't been told by any, but the boys always joke with one another). TERRIFIES ME. Since I have a love hate relationship with tornadoes, and we are sitting in the middle of NOWHERE, OKlahoma.... So just pray everyone, that we get outta here, and everyone gets their assignment they want!
Starbucks has been great so far, loving the people I work with. Everyday I laugh, and am thankful that I was given this opportunity.
This weekend we are headed to OKC for a HaLlOwEeN partay, should be fun!! Love, love, love dressing up!!!
Lastly, thanksgiving is quickly approaching and we are going to COLORADO to eat turkey and hang with the family. YAY!!!  My mommy is coming too :-)
NOVEMBER 30th = 30 min of the rest of our lives... well not really, but four years at least!!! ;-)

Shades of Autumn

So it has been a while since my last post. I must apologize, but things have been quite busy in the Drescher household.

UPDATE: I now work at Starbucks, and love every minute of it ;-)
Christian is really enjoying T-1's and gets to eat good food, LIKE ALL THE TIME! Seriously not fair. ( As I sit at home eating macaroni and cheese, and hot dogs. But, I cant complain.. I wouldn't trade this life for the world.. I am still in school, seems like it will never end, But the finish line is almost there. I just need to hang on for a few more months.. Please give me sanity in order to achieve this!!! One of my best friends, and Christian's friend find out where there journey is taking him next.. ( and her) but its a long story this coming Friday Oct. 12th.. So excited to actually go to an Assignment night where I am really close to someone! On the other hand, it is starting to make me slightly nervous, because that means our's is right around the corner! It's a bit thrilling to know what your doing for the next 4 years, but with my anxiety and hyperness, I know this can only bring Emotion out of me! So I am really debating on going, CALL ME CRAZY, but honestly, I don't know if I can handle all that. Knowing that people are looking at your reaction, and trying to decipher   if you are happy or not...and let me tell you I am a very emotional person; In good or bad situations, So i know I will cry, scream, fist pump. Or what have you, in the auditorium. EEEEK!
My fur babies are doing great, crazy crazy cats! They are honestly the sweetest, most babied children ever.. Scary to see what will happen when we have kids!!
Did I tell you how much I enjoy Starbucks, and getting free coffee now will be the death of me! Like for real!!

This semester is tough, I flippin hate Biology with a passion! I feel so incompetent in that class. But I know I have to study to get the grade I want. Which is really tough to do, since I have to be a wife, friend, and colleague.

OMG - I ALMOST FORGET! A FEW FRIENDS AND I MEET FARRAH FROM TEEN MOM. I AM A REALITY JUNKIE, SO YOU KNOW HOW PUMPED I WAS FOR THIS! I WAS STAR STRUCK AND COULDN'T EVEN BELIEVE THAT I WAS MEETING SOMEONE "FAMOUS" IN SMALL TOWN ENID, AMERICA! SAY WHHHAATTT! IT'S TRUE, I DOCUMENTED IT. THEORY IS, IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PIC IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I HAVE A PIC!

Back TWO School

Hello, we meet again!
16 weeks of hard knocks. school, work, and no play! UGH! I am well prepared this semester since I have taken so many classes before, I am not as nervous going into my last and final semester! -- Wait, did I just say final semester! HOLY COW! I feel like it has taken me all my life to get here, and it's approaching quicker than I know. I am blessed beyond measure to be able to complete my degree, and have an amazing, supporting, husband along the way. I couldn't have did it without him, seriously!

I have realized I shouldn't have waited so long, but I also realized that sometimes you have to get there to understand. I know I should have taken school more seriously when i was 18, but I was more concerned about the parties and boys. Needless to say it has brought me here, at 25 completing my degree. But I am very proud of myself, and the potential I will now have!

Christian graduates soon! Well soon as in December, but I swear it will come before i can blink!

Our friends are starting to leave, and some are finding out their next destiny, but we are grateful for their friendship and know we will see them down the road!

My life right now is a dazed mess, with school and 30 hours of work. But somehow I manage a full load of everything! I guess I just know extra is always extra in the end!

5 Things to Indulge In while in School:
 1) Cat naps
2) A good book, so all those textbooks don't seem to crappy
3) Movie night - I suggest a comedy so you can laugh and relive stress (hangover, borat, wedding crashers)
4) Chai Tea
5) A snuggle buddy (Cat, dog, bear, whatever you got!)

All Work No Play

Well, I officially am a work-a-holic! I got a job at Dillards, and am a full time student. Lets pray to Jesus that I can survive these next 4 months. Christian just had his dollar ride in the T-1 , So he is off to his busy days now. He wakes up at 4:00am and goes to bed at 8:30-9pm. Well, I get off work at 9 pm! So this will be a huge test in our marriage. But i know we can manage. And it's not forever, plus extra cash is always nice!!! (Lets be honest). I am almost done with my 3 Summer classes, they are okay so far. I didn't realize just how fast we learn everything, it's kind of ridiculous if you ask me. But I am honestly so close, I can't quit now. I just found out I am going to Colorado August 24th-27th. I am really excited to be back home for a few days! Well I think that is all the news in my life so far!

UPDATE: So I am officially free from Summer School. I got two A's and 1 B. Which I am so proud of myself, I really over-worked my brain, and I will never take 3 summer courses at once again! So much work, but it did pay off. Now it's just work until Aug. 20th. Christian loves the T-1's and is doing well. So hopefully we get the heck outta this place! It has grown on me, but I am ready for something new. However, I know that the final decision is not up to me. Otherwise, I would have been outta here quicker! November 30th cannot come sooner! It has also be so RIDICULOUSLY HOT! 110-114 degrees everyday, this Colorado native cannot take the heat!!! YOWZA!

This is what i feel like on a day to day basis..

Until next time,
AD

Chariots of Fire

OOH MY.. well back home in Colorado there has been a huge fire. (Waldo Canyon Fire), and it has hit over 350 homes, and damaged so much. The mountains have always been something i have taken for granted, but now I know that they are truly a gift from GOD. It has shaken the whole state, and I am forever touched by the firefighters who have risked everything to contain this massive disaster. My heart is forever broken, but I know in time Colorado will grow. It has been extremely touching though to see the community come together and donate their time, money and heart in relieving the fire victims. I wish I could have come home to help, but I understand that their are a lot of people helping already. It is a very proud moment to be from Colorado, knowing that when the times get tough, the tough get going. So thank you to everyone who has helped thus far. I actually am not much of a religious person, so to speak, but I have prayed a lot lately, for people, family, homes, lives...all at risk of destruction. It is very sad, and I know through prayer God really did help.

However, on a happier note:
Oh Friday nights, how you come and go so quickly.
It's almost the fourth of July, and I feel like I have no plans. (considering I am in Enid). Kind of bittersweet moment when you use to hang out with family under the stars and watch fireworks. Ohh, growing up is the pits! Tonight I am seeing Magic Mike with some ladies! Definitely going to be a fantastic movie filled with men half naked dancing... did I mention Channing Tatum.. OH BOY!!! I am like a giddy school girl in every movie he's in.

Saturday I am going to the City, to do some much needed shopping! And i get to go with some other wives! YAHOO! I am feeling a little weird, and let down lately, so i will leave you with a song..
JASON MIRAZ
*I won't give up*
When I look into your eyes
It's like watching the night sky
Or a beautiful sunrise
There's so much they hold
And just like them old stars
I see that you've come so far
To be right where you are
How old is your soul?

I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up

And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find

'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/j/jason_mraz/i_wont_give_up.html ]
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use the tools and gifts we got Yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end you're still my friend, at least we did intend for us to work
We didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not
And who I am

So easy is our life, what's mine is yours and yours mine. Hardly do we ever fight, we'd rather be kind

Night, Night :-)
